__35-38_Jesus said, When I sent you out without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything? They said, No, nothing. Then Jesus said, Now is the time to buy a sword. And take your purse with you. They said to Him, Look, we have two swords.

1-9_At dawn on the first day of the week the women came to the tomb with spices. Jesus was not there. Two men dressed in dazzling white asked them, Why are you seeking the living among the dead? They said that Jesus had risen just as He said He would. The women reported this to the eleven disciples.

__10-12_This report seemed like nonsense to the apostles. But Peter went to see for himself. After looking in the empty tomb, he went home marveling.

__13-31_Two disciples were walking to Emmaus. Jesus appeared to them and explained all the scripture concerning Him, all the while hiding His identity until He later blessed and broke bread. Then He disappeared.

__32-35_After Jesus disappeared from their sight they said, didn't our hearts burn within us while He explained the scriptures. They went to Jerusalem that same hour to relate their experience to the twelve.

__36-43_While they were discussing these things, Jesus stood in their midst. At first they were afraid, thinking that He was a spirit. Jesus assured them that He was flesh and blood. He let them touch Him and He ate a piece of broiled fish.
