1-15_The word of the LORD came to Micah in the days of Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah. He saw things concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.

Let the LORD God be a witness against you for He is coming forth from His place. The mountains will melt under Him and He will heap stones on Samaria. And Judah's wound is incurable.

1-13_Woe to those who scheme iniquity rather than sleep. They covet fields and take them. They rob a man of his house and inheritance. 1-4_O rulers of Israel, you hate good and love evil. When you cry to the LORD He will not answer you. He will hide His face from you because of your evil deeds.

__5-7_Your prophets have led My people astray. As long as they are fed they cry peace. When they are hungry they declare holy war. These prophets will be embarrassed because they have no word from God.

__8-11_On the other hand, I am filled with the Spirit of the LORD, and with justice and courage to make known to Israel his sin. The leaders pronounce judgment for a bribe, the priests instruct for a price, and the prophets prophesy for money.

__12_Therefore, Zion will be plowed as a field, Jerusalem will become a heap of ruins, and the mountain where the temple is will become a high place in the forest.

__4-8_Each of them will sit under his vine and his fig tree. No one will make them afraid, for the LORD has spoken. In that day, says the LORD, I will assemble the lame and gather the outcasts, even those I have afflicted. And the LORD will reign over them forever.

__9-13_Now you are crying. At that time you will be redeemed from the hand of your enemies. They do not know the thoughts of the LORD. They do not understand His purpose for He has gathered them like sheaves to the threshing floor.

1-8_The LORD has a case against His people.

What shall I bring to the LORD? Shall I bring burnt offering or shall I present my firstborn for the sin of my soul?

He has told you what is good and what He requires. You are to do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with your God.

__9-16_The voice of the LORD will ask, can I justify wicked scales with deceptive weights?

The LORD will strike you down. You will eat and not be satisfied. You will sow and not be allowed to reap, and I will give you up to destruction.

1-6_Woe is me for there is nothing to eat. There is no one left who is upright. Both hands know how to do evil. The best of the inhabitants are like briars. You cannot trust anyone, even those closest to you. A man's enemies are from his own household.

__7-13_I will wait for God to save me. He will hear me. I will bear the indignation of the LORD because I have sinned against Him. He will plead my case and execute justice for me and I will see His righteousness. My enemies will be put to shame. The earth will become desolate because of the fruit of its deeds.

__14-17_Shepherd Your people with Your scepter. As in the days when I brought you out of Egypt, so I will show you miracles. The nations will see and be ashamed of themselves. They will be humbled before God.

__18-20_Who is a God like You, Who pardons iniquity? You do not remain angry forever. Yes, You wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. You will give truth to Jacob and unchanging love to Abraham, just as you promised to our forefathers from the days of old.
