The Passover And Israel Leaves Egypt - RSV

God Had Told Abraham That He Would Give the Land of Canaan to His Descendants. And Now They Were about to Leave Egypt for the Promised Land.

1. God Wanted the Children of Israel to Understand That Life Comes from God. And When We Sin We Will Lose That Life Unless Someone Else Pays for Our Sin.

Exodus 12:3 Tell all the _____________________ of Israel that on the tenth day of this month they shall take every man a lamb according to their fathers' houses, a lamb for a ________________;

Exodus 12:5-8 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male a year old; you shall take it from the sheep or from the goats; [6] and you shall keep it until the __________________ day of this month, when the whole assembly of the _____________________ of Israel shall kill their lambs in the ____________. [7] Then they shall take some of the blood, and put it on the two ________________ and the lintel of the houses in which they eat them. [8] They shall eat the flesh that night, ____________; with __________________ bread and bitter herbs they shall eat it.

Exodus 12:11-13 In this manner you shall eat it: your loins __________, your ____________ on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste. It is the LORD's passover. [12] For I will pass through the land of Egypt that night, and I will smite all the first-born in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and on all the gods of Egypt I will ____________ ________________: I am the LORD. Jesus sacrificed His life for us. He has paid the price for our sins and He will forgive us when we ask Him. And we must forgive others if we want God to forgive us.

2. After the Death of His Oldest Child, Pharaoh Told Moses and Aaron to Take the Children of Israel and Go. Then He Had Second Thoughts.

Exodus 12:29-33 At ______________ the LORD smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt, from the first-born of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the first-born of the ____________ who was in the ____________, and all the first-born of the __________. [30] And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his ______________, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where one was not dead. [31] And he ______________ Moses and Aaron by night, and said, "Rise up, go forth from among my people, both you and the people of __________; and go, serve the LORD, as you have said. Exodus 12:37-41 And the people of Israel ________________ from Ram'eses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides women and children. 3. God Provided a Way of Escape for His Children.

Exodus 14:13-20 And Moses said to the people, "Fear not, stand firm, and see the ________________ of the LORD, which he will work for you today; for the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. [14] The LORD will fight for you, and you have only to be still." [15] The LORD said to Moses, "Why do you cry to me? Tell the people of Israel to go ____________. [16] Lift up your rod, and ____________ out your hand over the sea and __________ it, that the people of Israel may go on dry __________ through the sea. [17] And I will __________ the __________ of the Egyptians so that they shall go in after them, and I will get glory over Pharaoh and all his host, his chariots, and his horsemen. Exodus 14:26-31 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the water may come back upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen." [27] So Moses ________________ forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its wonted flow when the ____________ appeared; and the Egyptians fled into it, and the LORD routed the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. [29] But the people of Israel walked on dry ground through the sea, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. Even though the Children of Israel could not see how they would be saved from the Egyptians, God had a plan to save them. God will save us, even when it looks like there is no way of escape.
