The Passover And Israel Leaves Egypt - NKJ

God Had Told Abraham That He Would Give the Land of Canaan to His Descendants. And Now They Were about to Leave Egypt for the Promised Land.

1. God Wanted the Children of Israel to Understand That Life Comes from God. And When We Sin We Will Lose That Life Unless Someone Else Pays for Our Sin.

Exodus 12:3 Speak to all the _____________________ of Israel, saying: On the tenth of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a ________________.

Exodus 12:5-8 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats. [6] Now you shall keep it until the __________________ day of the same month. Then the whole assembly of the _____________________ of Israel shall kill it at ______________. [7] And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two ________________ and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it. [8] Then they shall eat the flesh on that night; ____________ in fire, with __________________ bread and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.

Exodus 12:11-13 And thus you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your ____________ on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It is the LORDs Passover. [12] For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the ________________ in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will ____________ ______________: I am the LORD. [13] Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the __________ where you are. Exodus 12:21-24 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel and said to them, Pick out and take lambs for yourselves according to your ______________, and kill the Passover lamb. [22] And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin. And none of you shall go out of the door of his house until ____________. [23] For the LORD will pass through to strike the ________________; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the LORD will pass over the door and not allow the ________________ to come into your __________ to strike you. Jesus sacrificed His life for us. He has paid the price for our sins and He will forgive us when we ask Him. And we must forgive others if we want God to forgive us.

2. After the Death of His Oldest Child, Pharaoh Told Moses and Aaron to Take the Children of Israel and Go. Then He Had Second Thoughts.

Exodus 12:29-33 And it came to pass at ______________ that the LORD struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the ____________ who was in the ____________, and all the firstborn of ________________. [30] So Pharaoh rose in the night, he, all his ______________, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not one dead. [31] Then he __________ for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise, go out from among my people, both you and the ______________ of __________. And go, serve the LORD as you have said. [32] Also take your __________ and your herds, as you have said, and be gone; and bless me also. [33] And the Egyptians urged the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste. For they said, We shall all be dead.

Exodus 12:37-41 Then the children of Israel ________________ from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides children. [38] A mixed ________________ went up with them also, and flocks and herds—a great deal of ________________. [39] And they baked __________________ cakes of the dough which they had brought out of Egypt; for it was not leavened, because they were driven out of Egypt and could not wait, nor had they ______________ __________________ for __________________. [40] Now the sojourn of the children of Israel who lived in Egypt was four hundred and thirty years. [41] And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty ______________ that very same day—it came to pass that all the armies of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.

Exodus 14:5-8 Now it was told the king of Egypt that the people had fled, and the heart of Pharaoh and his ______________ was turned against the people; and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us? [6] So he made ready his chariot and took his people with him. [7] Also, he took six ____________ choice chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt with ______________ over every one of them. Exodus 14:10 And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted their eyes, and behold, the ________________ ____________ after them. So they were very afraid, and the children of Israel cried out to the LORD.

3. God Provided a Way of Escape for His Children.

Exodus 14:13-20 And Moses said to the people, Do not be __________. Stand still, and see the ________________ of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. [14] The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace. [15] And the LORD said to Moses, Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go ____________. [16] But lift up your rod, and ____________ out your hand over the sea and __________ it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry __________ through the midst of the sea. [17] And I indeed will __________ the __________ of the Egyptians, and they shall __________ them. So I will gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, his chariots, and his horsemen. [18] Then the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I have __________ honor for __________ over Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen. [19] And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the __________ of cloud went from before them and stood behind them. Exodus 14:21-25 Then Moses ________________ out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. [22] So the ______________ of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. [23] And the Egyptians ____________ and went after them into the midst of the sea, all ______________ horses, his chariots, and his ______________. [24] Now it came to pass, in the ____________ watch, that the LORD looked down upon the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud, and He ______________ the army of the Egyptians. [25] And He took off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with __________________; and the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the LORD fights for them ____________ the Egyptians.

Exodus 14:26-31 Then the LORD said to Moses, Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come back upon the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen. [27] And Moses ________________ out his hand over the sea; and when the ____________ appeared, the sea returned to its full depth, while the Egyptians were ____________ into it. So the LORD ________________ the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. [28] Then the waters returned and ____________ the chariots, the horsemen, and all the army of ____________ that came into the sea after them. Not so much as one of them ______________. [29] But the ______________ of Israel had walked on dry land in the midst of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. [30] So the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the ______________. [31] Thus Israel saw the great work which the LORD had done in Egypt; so the people feared the LORD, and ______________ the LORD and His ____________ Moses.

Even though the Children of Israel could not see how they would be saved from the Egyptians, God had a plan to save them. God will save us, even when it looks like there is no way of escape.
