New Names For Abram And Sari - KJV

1. As Abram and Sarai Came to an Important Turning Point in Their Lives, God Gave Them New Names. He Reestablished His Covenant with Them and Gave Abraham the Covenant of Circumcision.

Genesis 17:1-5 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD ______________ to Abram, and said unto him, I am the ______________ God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. [2] And I will make my covenant ____________ me and thee, and will ______________ thee ___________________. [3] And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, [4] As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. [5] ____________ shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

Genesis 17:15-17 And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. [16] And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of ____________; kings of __________ shall be of her. Genesis 17:24-27 And Abraham was ninety years old and nine, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. 2. It was Hard for Abraham and Sarah to Believe They Would Have Children after Growing So Old.

Genesis 18:1-5 And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; [2] And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed ____________ toward the ground, [3] And said, My LORD, if now I have found __________ in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant: [4] Let a __________ water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest __________________ under the tree: [5] And I will fetch a __________ of bread, and ____________ ye your __________; after that ye shall pass on: for ________________ are ye come to your servant. Genesis 18:6-8 And Abraham ______________ into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready ____________ three ______________ of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth. [7] And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it. [8] And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had ____________, and set it __________ them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.

Genesis 18:9-10 And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent. [10] And he said, I will ________________ __________ unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was __________ him.

3. A Son Is Born to Abraham and Sarah. They Name Him Isaac.

Genesis 21:1-5 And the LORD ____________ Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken. [2] For Sarah ________________, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. [3] And Abraham __________ the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac. [4] And Abraham ___________________ his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had ________________ him. [5] And Abraham was an ____________ years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.

4. God Gave Abraham a Very Hard Test to Show That Abraham Had Learned to Trust Him.

Genesis 22:1-2 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. [2] And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou __________, and get thee into the land of __________; and offer him there for a burnt ______________ upon one of the ________________ which I will tell thee of.

Genesis 22:6-8 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together. [7] And Isaac _________ unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, __________ the fire and the wood: but _________ is the lamb for a burnt offering? [8] And Abraham said, My son, God will ____________ ____________ a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

Genesis 22:9-12 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. [10] And Abraham ________________ forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. [11] And the angel of the LORD __________ unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. [12] And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, ____________ do thou any _________ unto him: for now I know that thou ____________ God, __________ thou hast not ______________ thy son, thine only son from me.

Genesis 22:13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a ____________ by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt ______________ in the stead of his son.

God asked Abraham to offer his son as a sacrifice, but stopped him from actually doing it. God gave His own Son as a sacrifice for us. Jesus died for us so that we can be forgiven.
