Joseph As A Youth - RSV

Joseph Didn't Realize That His Troubles Would Eventually Lead Him to Be the Salvation of His Family. When a Famine Came to the World Joseph Would Bring His Father's Family down to Egypt Where They Would Remain for Many Years Before Being Rescued from Egypt's Oppressive Rule. a Time Would Come When the Pharaoh Would Not Remember Joseph. it was All Part of God's Plan to Help His People to See Him as Their Divine Deliverer.

1. Joseph Might Have Been a Little Spoiled.

Genesis 37:1-4 Jacob dwelt in the land of his father's ___________________, in the land of Canaan. [2] This is the history of the family of Jacob. Joseph, being ________________ years old, was ___________________ the flock with his brothers; he was a lad with the sons of Bilhah and Zilpah, his father's wives; and Joseph brought an ill report of them to their father. [3] Now Israel loved Joseph more than any other of his ______________, ____________ he was the son of his old age; and he made him a long robe with ____________. [4] But when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him, and could not speak ________________ to him.

Genesis 37:5-8 Now Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers they only hated him the more. [20] Come now, let us kill him and throw him into one of the pits; then we shall say that a wild beast has ______________ him, and we shall see what will become of his dreams." 3. Joseph was about to Suffer Really Hard Times.

[26] Then Judah said to his brothers, "What profit is it if we slay our brother and ____________ his blood? [28] Then Mid'ianite ____________ passed by; and they drew Joseph up and lifted him out of the pit, and sold him to the Ish'maelites for twenty ____________ of __________; and they took Joseph to Egypt.

Genesis 37:29-33 When Reuben returned to the pit and saw that Joseph was not in the pit, he rent his clothes [30] and returned to his brothers, and said, "The lad is gone; and I, where shall I go?" 4. Joseph was Blessed by God and His Master Eventually Trusted Him with Everything. Then His Integrity was Tested and He was Falsely Accused.

Genesis 39:1-4 Now Joseph was taken down to Egypt, and Pot'i-phar, an officer of Pharaoh, the captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ish'maelites who had ____________ him down there. [2] The LORD was with Joseph, and he became a __________________ man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian, [3] and his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD caused all that he did to ____________ in his hands. [4] So Joseph found favor in his sight and ______________ him, and he made him ______________ of his house and put him in charge of all that he had.

Genesis 39:7-9 And after a time his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph, and said, "Lie with me." 5. Even While Joseph was in Prison God was Training Him for a Greater Work.

Genesis 39:19-20 When his master heard the words which his wife spoke to him, "This is the way your servant treated me," his anger was kindled.
