Jacob Finally Meets Joseph - NKJ

1. The Brothers Go Home to Tell Their Father That Joseph Is Alive. They Had Not Known until Now. Perhaps They Thought He Had Died as a Slave. Now They Have Some Explaining to Do.

Genesis 45:16-20 Now the report of it was heard in Pharaohs house, saying, Josephs brothers have come. So it ____________ Pharaoh and his ______________ well. [17] And Pharaoh said to Joseph, Say to your brothers, Do this: Load your animals and depart; go to the land of __________. [18] Bring your father and your __________________ and come to me; I will give you the best of the land of Egypt, and you will eat the fat of the land. Genesis 47:1-6 Then Joseph went and told Pharaoh, and said, My father and my brothers, their flocks and their herds and all that they ____________, have come from the land of Canaan; and indeed they are in the land of Goshen. [2] And he took five men from among his brothers and ________________ them to Pharaoh. [3] Then Pharaoh said to his brothers, What is your __________________? Joseph realized that God had used the experience of being sold as a slave to prepare him to save his family from the famine. He was forgiving and never held against his brothers what they had done to him by selling him as a slave. After their father died, the brothers worried that Joseph would then take revenge. But he never did. He loved them and all was well with Jacob's children, and their children, until Joseph died and another Pharaoh came to power who did not remember Joseph and what he had done for Egypt.
