Jacob Finally Meets Joseph - NIV

1. The Brothers Go Home to Tell Their Father That Joseph Is Alive. They Had Not Known until Now. Perhaps They Thought He Had Died as a Slave. Now They Have Some Explaining to Do.

Genesis 45:16-20 When the news ____________ Pharaoh's palace that Joseph's brothers had come, Pharaoh and all his officials were ____________. Joseph realized that God had used the experience of being sold as a slave to prepare him to save his family from the famine. He was forgiving and never held against his brothers what they had done to him by selling him as a slave. After their father died, the brothers worried that Joseph would then take revenge. But he never did. He loved them and all was well with Jacob's children, and their children, until Joseph died and another Pharaoh came to power who did not remember Joseph and what he had done for Egypt.
