Abram Called By God - KJV

Abram was Called by God to Move to a New Place That Would Be Given to His Descendants.

1. God's Call to Abram Caused Him to Leave His Home and Many of His Relatives.

Genesis 12:1-3 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy ____________ house, unto a land that I will shew thee: [2] And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a ______________: [3] And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that ____________ thee: and in thee shall all ______________ of the earth be ____________.

Genesis 12:4-5 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was ____________ and five years old when he departed out of Haran. [5] And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his ______________ son, and all their ________________ that they had ______________, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.

Genesis 12:6-7 And Abram passed through the land unto the place of __________, unto the plain of Moreh. And the ________________ was then in the land. [7] And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there ____________ he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.

2. Abram and Lot Both Had Very Large Flocks and Their Herdsmen Quarreled.

Genesis 13:5-7 And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents. [6] And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their ________________ was great, so that they could not dwell together. [7] And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abrams cattle and the herdmen of Lots cattle: and the ________________ and the ________________ ____________ then in the land.

Genesis 13:8-10 And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be ______________. [9] Is not the whole land before thee? ______________ ____________, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left. [10] And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well ____________ every where, before the LORD ________________ Sodom and ______________, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou __________ unto Zoar.

Genesis 13:11-13 Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot ________________ east: and they ________________ themselves the one from the other. [12] Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom. [13] But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD ___________________.

Abram was older and could have chosen the best for himself. Lot chose to his own hurt because Sodom was so wicked.

3. Once More the Lord Promised Abram That All the Land Would One Day Belong to His Descendants.

Genesis 13:14-18 And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was ________________ from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art ________________, and southward, and ______________, and ______________: [15] For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. [16] And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be ______________. [17] Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the ____________ of it; for I will give it unto thee. [18] Then Abram ____________ his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in __________, and built there an altar unto the LORD.

4. Lot Lived near Sodom and an Invading King Took Him Prisoner.

Genesis 14:1-2 And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, _____________________ king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations; [2] That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of ______________, Shinab king of Admah, and ______________ king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar.

Genesis 14:8-9 And there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of ______________, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar;) and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim; [9] With _____________________ the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and ______________ king of Shinar, and Arioch king of ____________; four kings with five.

Genesis 14:11-12 And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way. [12] And they took Lot, Abrams ______________ son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and ______________.

5. After Abram Defeats Chedorlaomer He Meets with Melchizedek, a Priest of the Most High God.

Genesis 14:17-20 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the ________________ of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the kings dale. [18] And ___________________ king of Salem ____________ forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. [19] And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, ________________ of heaven and earth: [20] And blessed be the most high God, which hath ________________ thine ____________ into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

Genesis 14:21-24 And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the ____________, and take the goods to ____________. [22] And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the ________________ of heaven and earth, [23] That I will not take from a thread even to a ___________________, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou ________________ say, I have made Abram rich: [24] Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, __________, and Mamre; let them take their portion.

6. Abram Questioned God's Promise of Children, Since He Still Had None. God Promised Him Children and Told of What Would Happen to Them Before the Land was Actually Theirs.

Genesis 15:1-6 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy ________________ great reward. [2] And Abram said, LORD God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go ________________, and the ____________ of my house is this ____________ of ______________? [3] And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir. [4] And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir. [5] And he ____________ him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. Genesis 15:13-16 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a ______________ in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; [14] And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and ________________ shall they come out with great ________________. [15] And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age.
