Jesus Promised to Prepare a Place for Us.
The "bottomless pit, " or abyss, comes from the Greek word abussos and is the same word in the Hebrew Old Testament used for "without form and void. In Genesis 1:2, when God spoke the world into existence, it was without form and void, a darkened, desolate abyss of nothingness until God immediately separated the dry land, and then created a new world full of life.
Isaiah 66:22 "As the new heavens and the new earth that I make will endure before me," ______________ the LORD, "so will your name and ___________________ endure.
2 Peter 3:13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking ____________ to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of _______________________.
Revelation 21:1-5 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.
