Jesus Promised to Prepare a Place for Us.
The "bottomless pit, " or abyss, comes from the Greek word abussos and is the same word in the Hebrew Old Testament used for "without form and void. In Genesis 1:2, when God spoke the world into existence, it was without form and void, a darkened, desolate abyss of nothingness until God immediately separated the dry land, and then created a new world full of life.
Isaiah 66:22 For as the new ____________ and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain __________ me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
2 Peter 3:13 _____________________ we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth _______________________.
