39-The Holy Spirit - KJV

1. Jesus Declares That the Holy Spirit Is a Divine Being by Calling the Spirit "Him", Not "It".".
John 16:7 _Nevertheless_ I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the _Comforter_ will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

2. The Holy Spirit Convicts Us of Sin.
John 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of _righteousness_, and of _judgment_:

3. Jesus Speaks of the Holy Spirit As Part of the Godhead.
Matthew 28:19-20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, _baptizing_ them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things _whatsoever_ I have _commanded_ you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

4. The Holy Spirit Can Be Grieved.
Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, _whereby_ ye are sealed unto the day of _redemption_.

5. The Holy Spirit "Strives" with Us, Leading Us to Do Right.
Genesis 6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an _hundred_ and _twenty_ years.

6. The Holy Spirit Intercedes for Us.
Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our _infirmities_: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh _intercession_ for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

7. The Holy Spirit Has a Mind.
Romans 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh _intercession_ for the saints _according_ to the will of God.

8. The Holy Spirit Bears Witness That We Are Children of God.
Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth _witness_ with our spirit, that we are the _children_ of God:

9. The Holy Spirit Produces His Fruits in Our Lives.
Galatians 5:22-26 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, _longsuffering_, _gentleness_, goodness, faith, [23] Meekness, _temperance_: against such there is no law. [24] And they that are Christs have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. [25] If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. [26] Let us not be desirous of vain glory, _provoking_ one another, envying one another.

10. The Holy Spirit Works A Transformation Of Character, Giving Us A New Heart.
Ezekiel 36:26-27 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. [27] And I will put my spirit within you, and _cause_ you to walk in my _statutes_, and ye _shall_ keep my _judgments_, and do them.

Hebrews 8:10 For this is the _covenant_ that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their _hearts_: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a _people_:

11. The Spirit Participated with the Father and the Son in Creation and He Participates in Re-Creating Us, Too.
Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and _darkness_ was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the _waters_.

12. We May Be Assured That The Power Of The Holy Spirit Will Change His Faithful People By Dwelling In Them.
Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also _quicken_ your mortal bodies by his Spirit that _dwelleth_ in you.

13. The Holy Spirit Guides Us into All Truth.
John 16:13-14 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but _whatsoever_ he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. [14] He shall _glorify_ me: for he shall _receive_ of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

14. The Holy Spirit Teaches Us.
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your _remembrance_, _whatsoever_ I have said unto you.

15. To Fully Reject the Convicting, Converting, Instructing Power of the Holy Spirit Is to Everlastingly Commit the Unpardonable Sin.
Matthew 12:31-32 _Wherefore_ I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. [32] And whosoever speaketh a _word_ against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in _this_ world, neither in the world to _come_.

16. As We Allow the Holy Spirit to Lead Us, We Become Sons and Daughters of God.
Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the _Spirit_ of God, they are the _sons_ of God.
