36-Baptism - NKJ

1. Go Teach, and Baptize, in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
Matthew 28:19-20 Go therefore and make _disciples_ of all the nations, _baptizing_ them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] teaching them to observe all things that I have _commanded_ you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

2. He That Believes and Is Baptized Shall Be Saved.
Mark 16:16 He who believes and is _baptized_ will be saved; but he who does not believe will be _condemned_.

3. Except a Man Be Born of Water and Spirit, He Cannot Be Saved.
John 3:5 Jesus _answered_, "Most _assuredly_, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

4. One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism.
Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one _faith_, one _baptism_;

5. Jesus Was An Adult When He Was Baptized.
Matthew 3:13-17 Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. [14] And John tried to prevent Him, saying, "I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?" [15] But Jesus _answered_ and said to him, "Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all _righteousness_." Then he _allowed_ Him. [16] When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God _descending_ like a dove and alighting upon Him. [17] And _suddenly_ a voice came from heaven, saying, "This is My _beloved_ Son, in whom I am well _pleased_."

6. Biblical Baptism Takes Much Water.
John 3:23 Now John also was _baptizing_ in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there. And they came and were _baptized_.

7. Jesus Was Baptized by Going Completely Under the Water.
Mark 1:9-10 It came to pass in those days that Jesus came from _Nazareth_ of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan. [10] And _immediately_, coming up from the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit _descending_ upon Him like a dove.

8. Both Philip and the Eunuch Entered the Water. Philip Baptized the Eunuch by Immersion.
Acts 8:38 So he _commanded_ the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he _baptized_ him.

9. Buried with Christ Through Baptism.
Colossians 2:12 Buried with Him in _baptism_, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the _working_ of God, who raised Him from the dead.

10. Repent and Be Baptized.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be _baptized_ in the name of Jesus Christ for the _remission_ of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

11. They Gladly Received His Word and Were Baptized, Continuing Steadfastly in the Apostle's Doctrine, Or Instruction.
Acts 2:41-42 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. [42] And they continued _steadfastly_ in the apostles' doctrine and _fellowship_, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

12. We Are to Be Baptized into the Body of Christ Which Is the Church.
1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit we were all _baptized_ into one body--_whether_ Jews or Greeks, _whether_ slaves or free--and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.

Acts 2:46-47 So _continuing_ daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and _simplicity_ of heart, [47] _praising_ God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

13. Arise and Be Baptized and Wash Away Your Sins.
Acts 22:16 And now why are you waiting? Arise and be _baptized_, and wash away your sins, _calling_ on the name of the Lord.'
