36-Baptism - NIV

1. Go Teach, and Baptize, in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
Matthew 28:19-20 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, _baptizing_ them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] and teaching them to obey _everything_ I have _commanded_ you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

2. He That Believes and Is Baptized Shall Be Saved.
Mark 16:16 Whoever believes and is _baptized_ will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be _condemned_.

3. Except a Man Be Born of Water and Spirit, He Cannot Be Saved.
John 3:5 Jesus _answered_, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the _kingdom_ of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.

4. One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism.
Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one _faith_, one _baptism_;

5. Jesus Was An Adult When He Was Baptized.
Matthew 3:13-17 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. [14] But John tried to deter him, saying, "I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?" [15] Jesus _replied_, "Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to _fulfill_ all _righteousness_." Then John _consented_. [16] As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God _descending_ like a dove and _lighting_ on him. [17] And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well _pleased_."

6. Biblical Baptism Takes Much Water.
John 3:23 Now John also was _baptizing_ at Aenon near Salim, because there was plenty of water, and people were _constantly_ coming to be baptized.

7. Jesus Was Baptized by Going Completely Under the Water.
Mark 1:9-10 At that time Jesus came from _Nazareth_ in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. [10] As Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit _descending_ on him like a dove.

8. Both Philip and the Eunuch Entered the Water. Philip Baptized the Eunuch by Immersion.
Acts 8:38 And he gave orders to stop the _chariot_. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip _baptized_ him.

9. Buried with Christ Through Baptism.
Colossians 2:12 Having been _buried_ with him in _baptism_ and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.

10. Repent and Be Baptized.
Acts 2:38 Peter replied, "Repent and be _baptized_, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the _forgiveness_ of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

11. They Gladly Received His Word and Were Baptized, Continuing Steadfastly in the Apostle's Doctrine, Or Instruction.
Acts 2:41-42 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. [42] They devoted _themselves_ to the apostles' teaching and to the _fellowship_, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

12. We Are to Be Baptized into the Body of Christ Which Is the Church.
1 Corinthians 12:13 For we were all _baptized_ by one Spirit into one body--whether Jews or _Greeks_, slave or free--and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

Acts 2:46-47 Every day they _continued_ to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, [47] _praising_ God and _enjoying_ the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

13. Arise and Be Baptized and Wash Away Your Sins.
Acts 22:16 And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be _baptized_ and wash your sins away, _calling_ on his name.'
