30-The Destruction of the Wicked - KJV

1. God's Character Is One of Love.
Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an _everlasting_ love: _therefore_ with loving kindness have I drawn thee.

2. God Does Not Want Anyone to Perish.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is _longsuffering_ to usward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to _repentance_.

3. Our God Is a Consuming Fire. This Means Sin and Sinners Cannot Exist in His Presence.
Hebrews 12:29 For our God is a _consuming_ _fire_.

4. Sinners Will Ultimately Be Burned Up, Or Turned to Ash.
Malachi 4:1-3 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be _stubble_: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them _neither_ root nor _branch_. [2] But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of _righteousness_ arise with _healing_ in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as _calves_ of the stall. [3] And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

5. The Wicked Shall Not Be.
Psalms 37:10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt _diligently_ _consider_ his place, and it shall not be.

6. The Wicked Shall Perish, They Shall Be Consumed Away.
Psalms 37:20 But the wicked shall _perish_, and the _enemies_ of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.

7. The Wicked Will Not Be Found.
Psalms 37:36 Yet he _passed_ away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I _sought_ him, but he could not be found.

8. There Will Not Be One Punishment Whose Effects Last Forever. There Will Be One Punishment Whose Effects Last Forever.
Matthew 25:46 And these shall go away into _everlasting_ _punishment_: but the righteous into life eternal.

9. Sodom and Gomorrah Are Examples of Everlasting Punishment.
these Cities Have Ceased to Exist.
Jude 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving _themselves_ over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the _vengeance_ of eternal fire.

10. The Cities of Sodom and Gomorrah Are Turned into Ash.
2 Peter 2:6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes _condemned_ them with an _overthrow_, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

11. The Fire Cannot Be Quenched Or Put Out Until Sin Is Totally Eradicated From the Universe.
Matthew 3:11-12 I indeed baptize you with water unto _repentance_: but he that cometh after me is _mightier_ than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: [12] Whose fan is in his hand, and he will _throughly_ purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with _unquenchable_ fire.

12. Jerusalem Was Destroyed by An Unquenchable Fire Which Humans Could Not Put Out. The Fire's Work Was Complete and Jerusalem Is Not Burning Today.
Jeremiah 17:19-27 Thus said the LORD unto me; Go and stand in the gate of the _children_ of the people, _whereby_ the kings of Judah come in, and by the which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem; [20] And say unto them, Hear ye the word of the LORD, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates: [21] Thus saith the LORD; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem; [22] Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I _commanded_ your _fathers_. [23] But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor _receive_ _instruction_. [24] And it shall come to pass, if ye _diligently_ hearken unto me, saith the LORD, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein; [25] Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes _sitting_ upon the throne of David, riding in _chariots_ and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall remain for ever. [26] And they shall come from the _cities_ of Judah, and from the _places_ about Jerusalem, and from the land of _Benjamin_, and from the plain, and from the _mountains_, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of _praise_, unto the house of the LORD. [27] But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even _entering_ in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I _kindle_ a fire in the gates _thereof_, and it shall _devour_ the _palaces_ of Jerusalem, and it shall not be _quenched_.

13. The Wicked Shall Be Destroyed Forever. Forever Does Not Always Mean Endless Existence But Is Literally Translated "Until the End of the Age. ".".
Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and _brimstone_, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be _tormented_ day and night for ever and ever.

14. A Slave Shall Serve His Master Forever Or As Long As He Lives.
Exodus 21:6 Then his master shall bring him unto the _judges_; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall _serve_ him for ever.

15. Hannah Presented Samuel Before the Lord Forever Or As Long As He Would Live.
1 Samuel 1:22 But Hannah went not up; for she said unto her _husband_, I will not go up until the child be weaned, and then I will bring him, that he may appear _before_ the LORD, and there abide for ever.

1 Samuel 1:28 Therefore also I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he _liveth_ he shall be lent to the LORD. And he _worshipped_ the LORD there.

16. The Evil Angels and All the Wicked Are Reserved Unto Judgment.
hell Is Not Burning Now.
2 Peter 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and _delivered_ them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto _judgment_;

Revelation 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and _compassed_ the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and _devoured_ them.

17. Satan Himself Will Be Consumed to Ashes.
Ezekiel 28:17-18 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast _corrupted_ thy wisdom by reason of thy _brightness_: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. [18] Thou hast defiled thy _sanctuaries_ by the _multitude_ of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; _therefore_ will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.

18. The Fire Will Burn Itself Out and There Will Not Be Even a Coal Left.
Isaiah 47:14 Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not _deliver_ _themselves_ from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.

19. The Wicked Shall Be As If They Had Never Been.
Obadiah 1:16 For as ye have drunk upon my holy _mountain_, so shall all the heathen drink _continually_, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been.

20. The World Shall Be Dissolved and Afterwards God Will Create a New Heavens and a New Earth.
2 Peter 3:12-13 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be _dissolved_, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? [13] _Nevertheless_ we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth _righteousness_.
