29-Heaven - NIV

1. Heaven Is a Real Place.
John 14:1-3 "Do not let your _hearts_ be _troubled_. Trust in God; trust also in me. [2] In my _Father's_ house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. [3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be _where_ I am.

2. Our Lord Has Promised to Create a New Heavens and a New Earth.
2 Peter 3:10-13 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will _disappear_ with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. [11] Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives [12] as you look forward to the day of God and speed its _coming_. That day will bring about the _destruction_ of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. [13] But in _keeping_ with his _promise_ we are _looking_ forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of _righteousness_.

Isaiah 65:17 "Behold, I will create new _heavens_ and a new earth. The former things will not be _remembered_, nor will they come to mind.

3. The Meek Shall Inherit the Earth.
Matthew 5:5 _Blessed_ are the meek, for they will _inherit_ the earth.

4. The Holy City, New Jerusalem Will Descend From God Out of Heaven.
Revelation 21:1-5 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. [2] I saw the Holy City, the new _Jerusalem_, coming down out of heaven from God, _prepared_ as a bride beautifully _dressed_ for her _husband_. [3] And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the _dwelling_ of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God _himself_ will be with them and be their God. [4] He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or _mourning_ or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." [5] He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making _everything_ new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are _trustworthy_ and true."

5. God Created This World to Be Inhabited.
Isaiah 45:18 For this is what the LORD says-- he who created the heavens, he is God; he who _fashioned_ and made the earth, he _founded_ it; he did not create it to be empty, but _formed_ it to be inhabited-- he says: "I am the LORD, and there is no other.

6. The Original Dominion Will Be Restored to the Human Race.
Micah 4:8 As for you, O _watchtower_ of the flock, O _stronghold_ of the Daughter of Zion, the former dominion will be restored to you; kingship will come to the Daughter of Jerusalem."

7. God Will Give Us Glorious Immortal Bodies.
Philippians 3:21 Who, by the power that enables him to bring _everything_ under his control, will _transform_ our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

1 Corinthians 15:51-54 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed-- [52] in a flash, in the _twinkling_ of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. [53] For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. [54] When the perishable has been _clothed_ with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is _written_ will come true: "Death has been _swallowed_ up in _victory_."

8. All Physical Deformities Will Be Cured.
Isaiah 35:3-6 _Strengthen_ the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; [4] say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with _vengeance_; with divine _retribution_ he will come to save you." [5] Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf _unstopped_. [6] Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the _wilderness_ and streams in the desert.

9. They Shall Live Where They Build and Eat What They Plant.
Isaiah 65:21-23 They will build houses and dwell in them; they will plant _vineyards_ and eat their fruit. [22] No longer will they build houses and others live in them, or plant and others eat. For as the days of a tree, so will be the days of my people; my chosen ones will long enjoy the works of their hands. [23] They will not toil in vain or bear _children_ doomed to _misfortune_; for they will be a people _blessed_ by the LORD, they and their _descendants_ with them.

10. No Harm Shall Come to Anyone Or Anything in That Holy Place.
Isaiah 65:25 The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox, but dust will be the _serpent's_ food. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy _mountain_," says the LORD.

11. We Shall Fellowship with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and the Greatest Minds of the Ages.
Matthew 8:11 I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with _Abraham_, Isaac and Jacob in the _kingdom_ of heaven.

12. God Himself Shall Be with Us.
Revelation 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the _dwelling_ of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God _himself_ will be with them and be their God.

13. We Shall Lovingly Serve Our God Forever and Enjoy Closest Fellowship with Him.
Revelation 22:3-4 No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his _servants_ will serve him. [4] They will see his face, and his name will be on their _foreheads_.

14. God's Holy City Is Big!
Revelation 21:16-17 The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia in _length_, and as wide and high as it is long. [17] He measured its wall and it was 144 _cubits_ thick, by man's _measurement_, which the angel was using.

15. This Spectacular City Has Walls with Foundations Made of Gem Material, Streets of Gold, and Gates of Pearl.
Revelation 21:18-21 The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. [19] The foundations of the city walls were _decorated_ with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, [20] the fifth sardonyx, the sixth _carnelian_, the seventh _chrysolite_, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth _chrysoprase_, the _eleventh_ jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. [21] The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of pure gold, like _transparent_ glass.

16. There Is a List of Requirements for Entry into This City of God.
Revelation 21:7-8 He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son. [8] But the cowardly, the _unbelieving_, the vile, the _murderers_, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the _idolaters_ and all liars--their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."

17. You Are Invited to Live in This City.
Revelation 22:17 The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is _thirsty_, let him come; and whoever _wishes_, let him take the free gift of the water of life.
