28-Questions Regarding the Millennium - NKJ

1. When Jesus Returns, Won't He Establish His Kingdom on Earth for 1000 Years? I Have Always Thought There Would Be People Alive During the 1000 Years of Peace on Earth During the Millennium.

Jesus Promised to Prepare a Place for Us.

John 14:1-3 "Let not your heart be _troubled_; you believe in God, believe also in Me. [2] In My _Father's_ house are many _mansions_; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. [3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and _receive_ you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

2. The Saved Are Caught up to Jesus in the Sky at His Second Coming.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord _Himself_ will _descend_ from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the _trumpet_ of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. [17] Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall _always_ be with the Lord.

3. Jesus Will Come with His Angels and His Rewards.
Matthew 16:27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will _reward_ each _according_ to his works.

4. Jesus Also Comes with His Angels and Brings Destruction on the Wicked.
2 Thessalonians 1:7-8 And to give you who are _troubled_ rest with us when the Lord Jesus is _revealed_ from heaven with His mighty angels, [8] in flaming fire taking _vengeance_ on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

5. Jeremiah Describes the Wicked at the End of the Earth.
Jeremiah 25:33 And at that day the slain of the Lord shall be from one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth. They shall not be _lamented_, or _gathered_, or buried; they shall become refuse on the ground.

6. Another Description by Jeremiah of the Earth's Desolate Condition During the Millennium.
Jeremiah 4:23-27 I beheld the earth, and indeed it was without form, and void; And the heavens, they had no light. [24] I beheld the _mountains_, and indeed they _trembled_, And all the hills moved back and forth. [25] I beheld, and indeed there was no man, And all the birds of the heavens had fled. [26] I beheld, and indeed the _fruitful_ land was a _wilderness_, And all its cities were broken down At the _presence_ of the Lord, By His fierce anger. [27] For thus says the Lord: "The whole land shall be _desolate_; Yet I will not make a full end.

7. Revelation Describes Satan Being Bound in the Bottomless Pit for 1000 Years. This Binding of Satan Is with a Chain of Circumstances.
Revelation 20:1-2 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the _bottomless_ pit and a great chain in his hand. [2] He laid hold of the dragon, that _serpent_ of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a _thousand_ years;

The "bottomless pit, " or abyss, comes from the Greek word abussos and is the same word in the Hebrew Old Testament used for "without form and void. In Genesis 1:2, when God spoke the world into existence, it was without form and void, a darkened, desolate abyss of nothingness until God immediately separated the dry land, and then created a new world full of life.

8. Once Again, When God Is Ready, Sin Will Be Finally and Completely Destroyed. Out of the Abyss of the Old World, God Will Create a Marvelously Beautiful New World.
Isaiah 65:17 "For behold, I create new _heavens_ and a new earth; And the former shall not be _remembered_ or come to mind.

Isaiah 66:22 "For as the new _heavens_ and the new earth Which I will make shall remain before Me," says the Lord, "So shall your _descendants_ and your name remain.

2 Peter 3:13 _Nevertheless_ we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which _righteousness_ dwells.

Revelation 21:1-5 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. [2] Then I, John, saw the holy city, New _Jerusalem_, coming down out of heaven from God, _prepared_ as a bride adorned for her _husband_. [3] And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the _tabernacle_ of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God _Himself_ will be with them and be their God. [4] And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor _sorrow_, nor _crying_. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." [5] Then He who sat on the _throne_ said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and _faithful_."
