20-An Attempt to Change God's Law - NIV

1. Thy Word Is Truth.
John 17:17 _Sanctify_ them by the truth; your _word_ is truth.

2. Truth Has Great Value.
Proverbs 23:23 Buy the truth and do not sell it; get wisdom, _discipline_ and _understanding_.

3. Jesus Is the Same Yesterday, Today and Forever.
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same _yesterday_ and today and _forever_.

4. God Will Not Break His Covenant.
Psalms 89:34 I will not violate my _covenant_ or alter what my lips have _uttered_.

5. The Commandments Were Written with the Finger of God.
Exodus 31:18 When the LORD finished speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two tablets of the _Testimony_, the tablets of stone _inscribed_ by the finger of God.

6. Jesus Came to Fulfill Not Change the Law.
Matthew 5:17 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the _Prophets_; I have not come to abolish them but to _fulfill_ them.

7. The Seventh-Day Sabbath Hallowed, Sanctified and Blessed in Eden.
Genesis 2:1-3 Thus the heavens and the earth were _completed_ in all their vast array. [2] By the seventh day God had _finished_ the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. [3] And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, _because_ on it he rested from all the work of _creating_ that he had done.

8. Jesus Kept the Sabbath.
Luke 4:16 He went to _Nazareth_, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the _synagogue_, as was his custom. And he stood up to read.

9. Paul Kept the Sabbath.
Acts 13:42-44 As Paul and Barnabas were leaving the _synagogue_, the people invited them to speak further about these things on the next Sabbath. [43] When the _congregation_ was _dismissed_, many of the Jews and devout converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas, who talked with them and urged them to continue in the grace of God. [44] On the next Sabbath almost the whole city _gathered_ to hear the word of the Lord.

10. Early Christianity Predicted Apostasy.
Acts 20:28-31 Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you _overseers_. Be _shepherds_ of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. [29] I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. [30] Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away _disciples_ after them. [31] So be on your guard! _Remember_ that for three years I never stopped _warning_ each of you night and day with tears.

11. Truth Will Be Cast to the Ground.
Daniel 8:12 Because of rebellion, the host [of the saints] and the daily sacrifice were given over to it. It _prospered_ in _everything_ it did, and truth was thrown to the ground.

12. An Attempt Is Made to Change God's Law.
Daniel 7:25 He will speak against the Most High and _oppress_ his saints and try to change the set times and the laws. The saints will be _handed_ over to him for a time, times and half a time.

13. Seal the Law Within God's People.
Isaiah 8:16 Bind up the _testimony_ and seal up the law among my _disciples_.

Exodus 20:8-11 "_Remember_ the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. [9] Six days you shall labor and do all your work, [10] but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or _daughter_, nor your _manservant_ or _maidservant_, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. [11] For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. _Therefore_ the LORD _blessed_ the Sabbath day and made it holy.

14. God's People Will Receive the Seal of God Before the End of Time.
Revelation 7:1-3 After this I saw four angels _standing_ at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to _prevent_ any wind from _blowing_ on the land or on the sea or on any tree. [2] Then I saw _another_ angel coming up from the east, having the seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea: [3] "Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the _foreheads_ of the _servants_ of our God."

15. God's Last Message Calls Us to Worship the Creator and to Keep His Commandments.
Revelation 14:7 He said in a loud voice, "Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his _judgment_ has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the _springs_ of water."

16. God's People Are Faithful to Him.
Revelation 14:12 This calls for patient _endurance_ on the part of the saints who obey God's _commandments_ and remain faithful to Jesus.
