19-First Day Texts - NIV

1. The Sabbath Is a Sign Between God and His People.
Exodus 31:17-18 It will be a sign between me and the _Israelites_ forever, for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he abstained from work and rested.' " [18] When the LORD finished _speaking_ to Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two tablets of the _Testimony_, the tablets of stone _inscribed_ by the finger of God.

[5] And again in the passage above he says, "They shall never enter my rest." [6] It still remains that some will enter that rest, and those who _formerly_ had the gospel _preached_ to them did not go in, _because_ of their _disobedience_.

Hebrews 4:9 There _remains_, then, a Sabbath-rest for the _people_ of God;

8. The Symbol of the Resurrection Is Baptism, Not Sunday Worship.
Romans 6:3-5 Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? [4] We were therefore buried with him through _baptism_ into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the _Father_, we too may live a new life.
