15-Law Of God - NKJ

1. Heaven's Eternal Code of Conduct.
Psalms 111:7-8 The works of His hands are verity and justice; All His _precepts_ are sure. [8] They stand fast forever and ever, And are done in truth and _uprightness_.

2. The Law Brings Guilt and Drives Us to Jesus.
Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be _justified_ in His sight, for by the law is the _knowledge_ of sin.

3. God's Law Leads to Conversion.
Psalms 19:7 The law of the Lord is perfect, _converting_ the soul; The _testimony_ of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;

4. Keeping God's Law Brings Great Reward.
Psalms 19:11 _Moreover_ by them Your servant is warned, And in _keeping_ them there is great reward.

5. The Law Does Not Bring Salvation.
Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have _dominion_ over you, for you are not under law but under _grace_.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through _faith_, and that not of _yourselves_; it is the gift of God,

6. Grace Does Not Give Us Liberty to Break God's Law.
Romans 6:15 What then? Shall we sin _because_ we are not under law but under grace? _Certainly_ not!

7. Sin Is Defined As Breaking God's Law.
1 John 3:4 _Whoever_ commits sin _also_ commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.

8. Sin Separates Us From God.
Isaiah 59:1-2 Behold, the Lord's hand is not _shortened_, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear. [2] But your _iniquities_ have _separated_ you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is _eternal_ life in _Christ_ Jesus our Lord.

9. When We Are Saved by Faith We Want to Keep God's Law.
Romans 3:28-31 Therefore we conclude that a man is _justified_ by faith apart from the deeds of the law. [29] Or is He the God of the Jews only? Is He not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also, [30] since there is one God who will justify the _circumcised_ by faith and the un_circumcised_ through faith. [31] Do we then make void the law through faith? _Certainly_ not! On the contrary, we _establish_ the law.

Hebrews 10:17 Then He adds, "Their sins and their _lawless_ deeds I will _remember_ no more."

10. Love Leads Us to a Desire to Obey.
John 14:15 "If you love Me, _keep_ My _commandments_.

11. Not Keeping God's Commandments Shows That Something Is Lacking.
1 John 2:4-5 He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. [5] But _whoever_ keeps His word, _truly_ the love of God is _perfected_ in him. By this we know that we are in Him.

12. Jesus Offers to Write His Law in Our Hearts.
Hebrews 8:10 For this is the _covenant_ that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their _hearts_; and I will be their God, and they shall be My _people_.

13. Even the Desire to Do Right Comes From God.
Psalms 40:8 I delight to do Your _will_, O my God, And Your law is within my _heart_."

14. God's Last Day People Keep the Commandments Through Faith.
Revelation 14:12 Here is the _patience_ of the saints; here are those who keep the _commandments_ of God and the faith of Jesus.

15. God's Remnant, Like the Faithful of All Ages, Keep His Law.
Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the _commandments_ of God and have the _testimony_ of Jesus Christ.
