15-Law Of God - NAS

1. Heaven's Eternal Code of Conduct.
Psalms 111:7-8 The works of His hands are truth and justice; All His precepts are sure. [8] They are upheld forever and ever; They are _performed_ in truth and _uprightness_.

2. The Law Brings Guilt and Drives Us to Jesus.
Romans 3:20 Because by the works of the Law no flesh will be _justified_ in His sight; for through the Law comes the _knowledge_ of sin.

3. God's Law Leads to Conversion.
Psalms 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, _restoring_ the soul; The _testimony_ of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

4. Keeping God's Law Brings Great Reward.
Psalms 19:11 _Moreover_, by them Your servant is warned; In _keeping_ them there is great reward.

5. The Law Does Not Bring Salvation.
Romans 6:14 For sin shall not be _master_ over you, for you are not under law but under _grace_.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through _faith_; and that not of _yourselves_, it is the gift of God;

6. Grace Does Not Give Us Liberty to Break God's Law.
Romans 6:15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under _grace_? May it _never_ be!

7. Sin Is Defined As Breaking God's Law.
1 John 3:4 _Everyone_ who practices sin _also_ practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.

8. Sin Separates Us From God.
Isaiah 59:1-2 Behold, the LORD'S hand is not so short That it cannot save; Nor is His ear so dull That it cannot hear. [2] But your _iniquities_ have made a _separation_ _between_ you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is _eternal_ life in _Christ_ Jesus our Lord.

9. When We Are Saved by Faith We Want to Keep God's Law.
Romans 3:28-31 For we maintain that a man is _justified_ by faith apart from works of the Law. [29] Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, [30] since indeed God who will justify the _circumcised_ by faith and the un_circumcised_ through faith is one. [31] Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we _establish_ the Law.

Hebrews 10:17 "AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR _LAWLESS_ DEEDS I WILL _REMEMBER_ NO MORE."

10. Love Leads Us to a Desire to Obey.
John 14:15 "If you love Me, you will _keep_ My _commandments_.

11. Not Keeping God's Commandments Shows That Something Is Lacking.
1 John 2:4-5 The one who says, "I have come to know Him," and does not keep His _commandments_, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; [5] but _whoever_ keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been _perfected_. By this we know that we are in Him:

12. Jesus Offers to Write His Law in Our Hearts.
Hebrews 8:10 "FOR THIS IS THE _COVENANT_ THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD: I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MINDS, AND I WILL WRITE THEM ON THEIR _HEARTS_. AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY _PEOPLE_.

13. Even the Desire to Do Right Comes From God.
Psalms 40:8 I delight to do Your _will_, O my God; Your Law is within my _heart_."

14. God's Last Day People Keep the Commandments Through Faith.
Revelation 14:12 Here is the _perseverance_ of the saints who keep the _commandments_ of God and their faith in Jesus.

15. God's Remnant, Like the Faithful of All Ages, Keep His Law.
Revelation 12:17 So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the _commandments_ of God and hold to the _testimony_ of Jesus.
