13-Questions On The Second Coming - KJV

1. Isn't Jesus Coming Secretly? Doesn't the Bible Say There Will Be Two in the Field, One Taken and the Other Left?
Matthew 24:40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be _taken_, and the _other_ left.

2. The Bible Makes It Abundantly Plain That Jesus' Second Coming Is Not a Secret Event.
Revelation 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all _kindreds_ of the earth shall wail _because_ of him. Even so, Amen.

Psalms 50:3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep _silence_: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very _tempestuous_ round about him.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord _himself_ shall _descend_ from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be _caught_ up together with them in the _clouds_, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Matthew 24:27 For as the _lightning_ cometh out of the east, and _shineth_ even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

When the Bible speaks of those being left, it does not say they will be left alive on earth.

3. This Passage Describes the Event in Detail.
Luke 17:26-36 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. [27] They did eat, they drank, they _married_ wives, they were given in _marriage_, until the day that Noe _entered_ into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. [28] Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they _bought_, they sold, they _planted_, they _builded_; [29] But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it _rained_ fire and _brimstone_ from heaven, and destroyed them all. [30] Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is _revealed_. [31] In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not _return_ back. [32] _Remember_ Lots wife. [33] Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall _preserve_ it. [34] I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. [35] Two women shall be _grinding_ _together_; the one shall be taken, and the other left. [36] Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

In Noah's day there were two classes. One class was taken, or saved, and one was left, or destroyed by the flood.

In Lot's day there were two classes. One class was taken out of the city and saved. The other class left in the city and consumed by fire. It will be similar when Jesus comes.

It will be similar when Jesus comes. One class will be taken to heaven with Jesus and the other class will be destroyed.

4. The Question Is Raised, "Where Lord? Where Are These People Left?".
Luke 17:37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, _Wheresoever_ the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered _together_.

Revelation 19:11-18 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called _Faithful_ and True, and in _righteousness_ he doth judge and make war. [12] His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he _himself_. [13] And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. [14] And the armies which were in heaven _followed_ him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. [15] And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the _nations_: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he _treadeth_ the _winepress_ of the _fierceness_ and wrath of Al_mighty_ God. [16] And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. [17] And I saw an angel _standing_ in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather _yourselves_ _together_ unto the _supper_ of the great God; [18] That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of _captains_, and the flesh of _mighty_ men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

The eagles eat carrion-dead things. The eagles Gather to feast on the dead.

Each Bible reference to Jesus coming as a thief is in reference to the unexpected time of His coming, not the manner of His coming. He comes quickly as a thief, unexpectedly as a thief, but in glorious splendor as lightening in triumphant glory.

5. The Wicked Are Destroyed When Jesus Comes.
2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, [8] In flaming fire taking _vengeance_ on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: [9] Who shall be punished with _everlasting_ _destruction_ from the _presence_ of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

2 Thessalonians 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be _revealed_, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the _brightness_ of his coming:

6. Doesn't the Bible Teach That Jesus Is Coming As a Thief?
1 Thessalonians 5:2 For _yourselves_ know _perfectly_ that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

Matthew 24:42-44 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. [43] But know this, that if the _goodman_ of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have _watched_, and would not have _suffered_ his house to be broken up. [44] Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man _cometh_.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-5 But of the times and the _seasons_, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. [2] For _yourselves_ know _perfectly_ that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. [3] For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden _destruction_ cometh upon them, as _travail_ upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. [4] But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should _overtake_ you as a thief. [5] Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

Matthew 24:27 For as the _lightning_ cometh out of the east, and _shineth_ even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

7. Do God's People Live Through the Coming Tribulation Or Are They Raptured Before the Tribulation? The Experiences of Ancient Israel Were Examples Given by God for His People Living at the Close of Time.
1 Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for _ensamples_: and they are written for our _admonition_, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

8. Shadrach, Meshack, and Abednego Entered the Flames When They Refused to Bow to the Idol Set up by Babylon's King.
Daniel 3:16-28 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not _careful_ to answer thee in this matter. [17] If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. [18] But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. [19] Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed _against_ Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they _should_ heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be _heated_. [20] And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace. [21] Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other _garments_, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. [22] Therefore because the kings _commandment_ was _urgent_, and the furnace _exceeding_ hot, the _flames_ of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. [23] And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. [24] Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was _astonied_, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. [25] He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, _walking_ in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the _fourth_ is like the Son of God. [26] Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come _hither_. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire. [27] And the _princes_, _governors_, and _captains_, and the kings counsellors, being _gathered_ _together_, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head _singed_, _neither_ were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had _passed_ on them. [28] Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, _Blessed_ be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and _delivered_ his servants that _trusted_ in him, and have changed the kings word, and _yielded_ their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, _except_ their own God.

9. Jesus Comes As a Thief After the Plagues.
Revelation 16:15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that _watcheth_, and keepeth his _garments_, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

10. This Text Emphatically Declares "No Man Can Enter the (Heavenly) Temple Until the Plagues Are Completed. ".".
Revelation 15:8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven _plagues_ of the seven angels were _fulfilled_.

11. Anti-Christ Is Revealed Before Jesus Comes.
2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our _gathering_ _together_ unto him, [2] That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be _troubled_, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. [3] Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be _revealed_, the son of _perdition_;

12. The Anti-Christ Is Destroyed by the Brightness of His Coming.
2 Thessalonians 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be _revealed_, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the _brightness_ of his coming:

13. Now Is the Day of Salvation.
2 Corinthians 6:2 (For he saith, I have _heard_ thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I _succoured_ thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

14. Both the Wheat and the Tares (The Righteous and the Wicked) Grow Together Until the Harvest.
Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the _reapers_, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in _bundles_ to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

The righteous are saved and the unrighteous are lost. In the parable of the unfaithful servant, there is no second chance.

15. The Unfaithful Are Lost When the Lord of the Household Comes Unexpectedly.
Matthew 24:44-51 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. [45] Who then is a _faithful_ and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his _household_, to give them meat in due season? [46] Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. [47] Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. [48] But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord _delayeth_ his coming; [49] And shall begin to smite his _fellowservants_, and to eat and drink with the drunken; [50] The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, [51] And shall cut him asunder, and _appoint_ him his _portion_ with the _hypocrites_: there shall be _weeping_ and _gnashing_ of teeth.

16. In the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats, Men and Women Are Either Saved Or Lost When Jesus Comes.
Matthew 25:31-34 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: [32] And before him shall be _gathered_ all nations: and he shall _separate_ them one from another, as a _shepherd_ _divideth_ his sheep from the goats: [33] And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. [34] Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom _prepared_ for you from the _foundation_ of the world:
