1. Jesus Promised That He Would Return.
John 14:1-3 "Let not your heart be _troubled_; you believe in God, believe also in Me. [2] In My _Father's_ house are many _mansions_; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. [3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and _receive_ you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

2. Angels Confirmed the Promise.
Acts 1:9-11 Now when He had spoken these things, while they _watched_, He was taken up, and a cloud _received_ Him out of their sight. [10] And while they looked _steadfastly_ toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, [11] who also said, "Men of _Galilee_, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like _manner_ as you saw Him go into heaven."

3. Enoch Prophesied the Second Coming.
Jude 1:14 Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, _prophesied_ about these men also, saying, "Behold, the Lord comes with ten _thousands_ of His saints,

4. David Declares "Our Lord Shall Come".
Psalms 50:3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent; A fire shall _devour_ before Him, And it shall be very _tempestuous_ all around Him.

5. Every Eye Shall See Him.
Revelation 1:7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who _pierced_ Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn _because_ of Him. Even so, Amen.

6. His Return Will Be Like Lightning.
Matthew 24:27 For as the _lightning_ comes from the east and _flashes_ to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

7. The Second Coming Will Be Audible.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord _Himself_ will _descend_ from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the _trumpet_ of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. [17] Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall _always_ be with the Lord.

8. We Will Be Clothed with Immortality.
1 Corinthians 15:51-54 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be _changed_-- [52] in a moment, in the _twinkling_ of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be _changed_. [53] For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. [54] So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be _brought_ to pass the saying that is _written_: "Death is _swallowed_ up in _victory_."

9. His Return Will Be a Glorious Event.
Matthew 16:27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will _reward_ each _according_ to his works.

10. The Wicked Will Not Be Happy.
Revelation 6:14-17 Then the sky _receded_ as a scroll when it is _rolled_ up, and every _mountain_ and island was moved out of its place. [15] And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the _commanders_, the _mighty_ men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the _mountain_s, [16] and said to the _mountain_s and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the _throne_ and from the wrath of the Lamb! [17] For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?"

11. The Evil Are Destroyed and the Righteous Are Saved.
Matthew 13:37-43 He answered and said to them: "He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. [38] The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. [39] The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the _harvest_ is the end of the age, and the _reapers_ are the angels. [40] Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. [41] The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who _practice_ _lawlessness_, [42] and will cast them into the _furnace_ of fire. There will be _wailing_ and _gnashing_ of teeth. [43] Then the _righteous_ will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their _Father_. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

12. To the Righteous It Is a Joyous Event.
Isaiah 25:9 And it will be said in that day: "Behold, this is our God; We have waited for Him, and He will save us. This is the Lord; We have waited for Him; We will be glad and _rejoice_ in His _salvation_."

13. Jesus Returns As King of Kings.
Revelation 19:11-16 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called _Faithful_ and True, and in _righteousness_ He judges and makes war. [12] His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. [13] He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. [14] And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, _followed_ Him on white horses. [15] Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He _should_ _strike_ the _nations_. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself _treads_ the _winepress_ of the _fierceness_ and wrath of Almighty God. [16] And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

14. The Blessed Hope.
Titus 2:13 Looking for the blessed hope and _glorious_ _appearing_ of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,

15. Jesus' Final Invitation.
Revelation 22:11-12 He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still." [12] "And behold, I am coming _quickly_, and My _reward_ is with Me, to give to every one _according_ to his work.

Revelation 22:17-20 And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" And let him who thirsts come. _Whoever_ _desires_, let him take the water of life freely. [18] For I _testify_ to _everyone_ who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the _plagues_ that are written in this book; [19] and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. [20] He who _testifies_ to these things says, "Surely I am coming _quickly_." Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
