1. Jesus Promised That He Would Return.
John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be _troubled_: ye believe in God, believe also in me. [2] In my _Fathers_ house are many _mansions_: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. [3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and _receive_ you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

2. Angels Confirmed the Promise.
Acts 1:9-11 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud _received_ him out of their sight. [10] And while they looked _stedfastly_ toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; [11] Which also said, Ye men of _Galilee_, why stand ye _gazing_ up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like _manner_ as ye have seen him go into heaven.

3. Enoch Prophesied the Second Coming.
Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, _prophesied_ of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten _thousands_ of his saints,

4. David Declares "Our Lord Shall Come".
Psalms 50:3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep _silence_: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very _tempestuous_ round about him.

5. Every Eye Shall See Him.
Revelation 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all _kindreds_ of the earth shall wail _because_ of him. Even so, Amen.

6. His Return Will Be Like Lightning.
Matthew 24:27 For as the _lightning_ cometh out of the east, and _shineth_ even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

7. The Second Coming Will Be Audible.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord _himself_ shall _descend_ from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be _caught_ up together with them in the _clouds_, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

8. We Will Be Clothed with Immortality.
1 Corinthians 15:51-54 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, [52] In a moment, in the _twinkling_ of an eye, at the last trump: for the _trumpet_ shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. [53] For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. [54] So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be _brought_ to pass the saying that is _written_, Death is _swallowed_ up in _victory_.

9. His Return Will Be a Glorious Event.
Matthew 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall _reward_ every man _according_ to his works.

10. The Wicked Will Not Be Happy.
Revelation 6:14-17 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every _mountain_ and island were moved out of their places. [15] And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief _captains_, and the _mighty_ men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid _themselves_ in the dens and in the rocks of the _mountain_s; [16] And said to the _mountain_s and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that _sitteth_ on the _throne_, and from the wrath of the Lamb: [17] For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

11. The Evil Are Destroyed and the Righteous Are Saved.
Matthew 13:37-43 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; [38] The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; [39] The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the _harvest_ is the end of the world; and the _reapers_ are the angels. [40] As therefore the tares are gathered and _burned_ in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. [41] The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all _things_ that offend, and them which do iniquity; [42] And shall cast them into a _furnace_ of fire: there shall be _wailing_ and _gnashing_ of teeth. [43] Then shall the _righteous_ shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their _Father_. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

12. To the Righteous It Is a Joyous Event.
Isaiah 25:9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and _rejoice_ in his _salvation_.

13. Jesus Returns As King of Kings.
Revelation 19:11-16 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called _Faithful_ and True, and in _righteousness_ he doth judge and make war. [12] His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he _himself_. [13] And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. [14] And the armies which were in heaven _followed_ him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. [15] And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he _should_ smite the _nations_: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he _treadeth_ the _winepress_ of the _fierceness_ and wrath of Almighty God. [16] And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

14. The Blessed Hope.
Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the _glorious_ _appearing_ of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

15. Jesus' Final Invitation.
Revelation 22:11-12 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. [12] And, behold, I come _quickly_; and my _reward_ is with me, to give every man _according_ as his work shall be.

Revelation 22:17-20 And the _Spirit_ and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And _whosoever_ will, let him take the water of life _freely_. [18] For I _testify_ unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the _plagues_ that are written in this book: [19] And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. [20] He which _testifieth_ these things saith, _Surely_ I come _quickly_. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
