1. Nebuchadnezzar Dreamed a Troubling Dream.
Daniel 2:1 Now in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; and his _spirit_ was _troubled_ and his sleep left him.

2. The King's Wise Men Cannot Recall Or Explain the Dream.
Daniel 2:2-11 Then the king gave orders to call in the magicians, the conjurers, the sorcerers and the Chaldeans to tell the king his dreams. So they came in and stood before the king. [3] The king said to them, "I had a dream and my spirit is anxious to _understand_ the dream." [4] Then the Chaldeans spoke to the king in _Aramaic_: "O king, live forever! Tell the dream to your servants, and we will declare the interpretation." [5] The king replied to the Chaldeans, "The command from me is firm: if you do not make known to me the dream and its interpretation, you will be torn limb from limb and your houses will be made a _rubbish_ heap. [6] "But if you declare the dream and its interpretation, you will _receive_ from me gifts and a _reward_ and great honor; therefore declare to me the dream and its interpretation." [7] They answered a _second_ time and said, "Let the king tell the dream to his servants, and we will declare the interpretation." [8] The king replied, "I know for _certain_ that you are _bargaining_ for time, inasmuch as you have seen that the command from me is firm, [9] that if you do not make the dream known to me, there is only one _decree_ for you. For you have agreed together to speak lying and _corrupt_ words before me until the _situation_ is _changed_; therefore tell me the dream, that I may know that you can declare to me its interpretation." [10] The Chaldeans answered the king and said, "There is not a man on earth who could declare the _matter_ for the king, inasmuch as no great king or ruler has ever asked anything like this of any magician, conjurer or Chaldean. [11] "_Moreover_, the thing which the king _demands_ is _difficult_, and there is no one else who could declare it to the king _except_ gods, whose _dwelling_ place is not with _mortal_ flesh."

3. Daniel Asks for Time.
Daniel 2:16 So Daniel went in and _requested_ of the king that he would give him time, in order that he might declare the _interpretation_ to the king.

4. God Reveals the Dream to Daniel.
Daniel 2:19-23 Then the mystery was _revealed_ to Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven; [20] Daniel said, "Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, For wisdom and power belong to Him. [21] "It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and _establishes_ kings; He gives wisdom to wise men And _knowledge_ to men of _understanding_. [22] "It is He who reveals the _profound_ and hidden things; He knows what is in the _darkness_, And the light dwells with Him. [23] "To You, O God of my _fathers_, I give thanks and praise, For You have given me wisdom and power; Even now You have made known to me what we _requested_ of You, For You have made known to us the king's matter."

5. There Is a God in Heaven Who Reveals Secrets.
Daniel 2:28 "However, there is a God in heaven who reveals _mysteries_, and He has made known to King _Nebuchadnezzar_ what will take place in the latter days. This was your dream and the visions in your mind while on your bed.

6. The Dream Reveals What Shall Come to Pass.
Daniel 2:29-30 "As for you, O king, while on your bed your thoughts turned to what would take place in the future; and He who reveals _mysteries_ has made known to you what will take place. [30] "But as for me, this mystery has not been _revealed_ to me for any wisdom _residing_ in me more than in any other living man, but for the purpose of making the _interpretation_ known to the king, and that you may _understand_ the thoughts of your mind.

7. The Dream Revealed.
Daniel 2:31 "You, O king, were looking and behold, there was a single great statue; that statue, which was large and of _extraordinary_ splendor, was standing in front of you, and its _appearance_ was awesome.

Daniel 2:32-35 "The head of that statue was made of fine gold, its breast and its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of bronze, [33] its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. [34] "You _continued_ _looking_ until a stone was cut out without hands, and it struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and crushed them. [35] "Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were crushed all at the same time and became like chaff from the summer _threshing_ _floors_; and the wind _carried_ them away so that not a trace of them was found. But the stone that struck the statue became a great _mountain_ and _filled_ the whole earth.

8. The Dream Interpreted.
Daniel 2:36 "This was the dream; now we will tell its _interpretation_ _before_ the king.

9. Nebuchadnezzar Is the Head of Gold.
Daniel 2:38 And _wherever_ the sons of men dwell, or the beasts of the field, or the birds of the sky, He has given them into your hand and has _caused_ you to rule over them all. You are the head of gold.

Babylon lasted from 605 BC To 539 BC.

 10. The Medes and Persians Overthrew the Babylonians.
Daniel 5:28 " 'PERES '-your kingdom has been _divided_ and given over to the Medes and _Persians_."

Daniel 5:30-31 That same night Belshazzar the _Chaldean_ king was slain. [31] So Darius the Mede _received_ the kingdom at about the age of sixty-two.

11. The Amazing Prediction Of Cyrus.
Isaiah 44:27-28 "It is I who says to the depth of the sea, 'Be dried up!' And I will make your rivers dry. [28] "It is I who says of Cyrus, 'He is My shepherd! And he will _perform_ all My desire.' And he _declares_ of _Jerusalem_, 'She will be built,' And of the temple, 'Your _foundation_ will be laid.' "

Isaiah 45:1 Thus says the LORD to Cyrus His _anointed_, Whom I have taken by the right hand, To subdue _nations_ before him And to loose the loins of kings; To open doors before him so that gates will not be shut:

Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD does nothing Unless He reveals His secret counsel To His _servants_ the _prophets_.

This prophecy was made over 100 years in advance.

 12. A Third Kingdom Predicted.
Daniel 2:39 "After you there will arise another kingdom _inferior_ to you, then another third kingdom of _bronze_, which will rule over all the earth.

13. Greece Conquered Medo-Persia.
Daniel 8:20-21 "The ram which you saw with the two horns represents the kings of Media and Persia. [21] "The shaggy goat represents the kingdom of _Greece_, and the large horn that is _between_ his eyes is the first king.

Medo-Persia lasted from 539 BC To 331 BC.
The Greeks ruled from 331 BC To 168 BC.

 14. A Fourth Kingdom Strong As Iron.
Daniel 2:40 "Then there will be a fourth _kingdom_ as strong as iron; inasmuch as iron crushes and _shatters_ all things, so, like iron that breaks in pieces, it will crush and break all these in pieces.

Rome ruled from 168 BC To 351 AD.

 16. Kings and Queens Attempt to Unite Europe Inter-Marriage.
Daniel 2:43 "And in that you saw the iron mixed with common clay, they will combine with one another in the seed of men; but they will not _adhere_ to one another, even as iron does not combine with _pottery_.

17. Eventually God Will Establish His Kingdom.
Daniel 2:44 "In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be _destroyed_, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these _kingdoms_, but it will itself endure _forever_.

18. The Rock Cut Out without Hands Is Jesus' Kingdom.
Daniel 2:44 "In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be _destroyed_, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these _kingdoms_, but it will itself endure _forever_.

19. The Heathen Are Broken to Pieces (Like the Image).
Psalms 2:8-9 'Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your _inheritance_, And the very ends of the earth as Your possession. [9] 'You shall break them with a rod of iron, You shall shatter them like _earthenware_.' "

20. Blessed Hope and Glorious Appearing.
Titus 2:11-13 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, [12] instructing us to deny _ungodliness_ and worldly desires and to live sensibly, _righteously_ and godly in the present age, [13] looking for the blessed hope and the _appearing_ of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,
