8-Questions Regarding Salvation - KJV

1. We Come to Jesus, Accepting His Forgiveness by Faith. We Receive His Grace and Gift of Eternal Life.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through _faith_; and that not of _yourselves_: it is the gift of God:

Romans 3:22-25 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no _difference_: [23] For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; [24] Being justified freely by his grace through the _redemption_ that is in Christ Jesus: [25] Whom God hath set forth to be a _propitiation_ through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the _remission_ of sins that are past, through the _forbearance_ of God;

2. Salvation Is a Free Gift. We Cannot Earn It by Obedience. When the Philippian Jailer Asked What He Had to Do to Be Saved, What Did Paul Say?
Acts 16:30-31 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? [31] And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus _Christ_, and thou shalt be saved, and thy _house_.

3. Belief Is a Function of the Will. The Same Mind Which Chooses to Believe Can Choose to Disbelieve. Unbelief Leads to Spiritual Death.
Hebrews 3:12-14 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. [13] But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the _deceitfulness_ of sin. [14] For we are made _partakers_ of Christ, if we hold the _beginning_ of our _confidence_ stedfast unto the end;

Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the _same_ shall be _saved_.

1 Corinthians 15:1-2 Moreover, _brethren_, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have _received_, and wherein ye stand; [2] By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have _believed_ in vain.

If we do not hold our confidence in God to the end, we will develop a heart of unbelief. We are saved only if we keep in memory what was preached from the Bible and live the life of faith.

4. It Is Always Possible To Return To The Old Life Of Sin And Have Our Names Blotted Out Of The Book Of Life. If Our Names Are Not In The Book Of Life, We Will Be Eternally Lost.
2 Peter 2:19-21 While they promise them liberty, they _themselves_ are the servants of _corruption_: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. [20] For if after they have escaped the _pollutions_ of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. [21] For it had been better for them not to have known the way of _righteousness_, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy _commandment_ _delivered_ unto them.

Revelation 3:5 He that _overcometh_, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will _confess_ his name before my Father, and before his angels.

1 Corinthians 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into _subjection_: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a _castaway_.

The word which Paul uses for "cast away" in 1 Corinthians 9:27 is the same word that is used in Jeremiah 6:30 for those who are burned and ultimately lost.

5. When We Come to Jesus We Receive Eternal Life.
John 10:28 And I give unto them _eternal_ life; and they shall never perish, _neither_ shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Just as His coming into our heart by faith brings life, our unbelief brings spiritual death. We cannot be unborn, but we can die. Nothing can take us from His hand Except our own choice.
