5-The Divinity Of Christ - NKJ

1. Immanuel - God Is with Us.
Matthew 1:23 "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name _Immanuel_," which is _translated_, "God with us."

2. The Word Was God.
John 1:1 In the _beginning_ was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

3. Jesus Declared His Self-Existence.
John 8:58 Jesus said to them, "Most _assuredly_, I say to you, _before_ Abraham was, I AM."

4. I Am Is the Name of God.
Exodus 3:14 And God said to Moses, I AM WHO I AM. And He said, Thus you _shall_ say to the _children_ of Israel, I AM has sent me to you.

5. Jesus Forgave Sins.
Luke 5:20-24 When He saw their faith, He said to him, "Man, your sins are forgiven you." [21] And the scribes and the _Pharisees_ began to reason, saying, "Who is this who speaks _blasphemies_? Who can forgive sins but God alone?" [22] But when Jesus _perceived_ their _thoughts_, He _answered_ and said to them, "Why are you _reasoning_ in your hearts? [23] Which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, 'Rise up and walk'? [24] But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins"--He said to the man who was _paralyzed_, "I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house."

6. Thomas Testified That He Was Both Lord and God.
John 20:28 And _Thomas_ answered and said to Him, "My _Lord_ and my God!"

7. The Father Addresses the Son of God.
Hebrews 1:5-9 For to which of the angels did He ever say: "You are My Son, Today I have begotten You"? And again: "I will be to Him a Father, And He shall be to Me a Son"? [6] But when He again brings the _firstborn_ into the world, He says: "Let all the angels of God worship Him." [7] And of the angels He says: "Who makes His angels spirits And His _ministers_ a flame of fire." [8] But to the Son He says: "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your _Kingdom_. [9] You have loved righteousness and hated _lawlessness_; Therefore God, Your God, has _anointed_ You With the oil of _gladness_ more than Your _companions_."

8. Jesus Christ Is Eternal.
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the _government_ will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, _Everlasting_ Father, Prince of Peace.

Micah 5:2 "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the _thousands_ of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From _everlasting_."

1 Timothy 6:15-16 Which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, [16] who alone has _immortality_, dwelling in _unapproachable_ light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and _everlasting_ power. Amen.

Revelation 1:18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and _behold_, I am alive _forevermore_. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.

9. Jesus Voluntary Sacrifice for Us.
Philippians 2:5-12 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, [6] who, being in the form of God, did not _consider_ it robbery to be equal with God, [7] but made Himself of no _reputation_, taking the form of a _bondservant_, and coming in the _likeness_ of men. [8] And being found in _appearance_ as a man, He humbled Himself and became _obedient_ to the point of death, even the death of the cross. [9] Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, [10] that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, [11] and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. [12] Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my _presence_ only, but now much more in my _absence_, work out your own _salvation_ with fear and _trembling_;
