5-The Divinity Of Christ - NAS

1. Immanuel - God Is with Us.
Matthew 1:23 "BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD AND SHALL BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME _IMMANUEL_," which _translated_ means, "GOD WITH US."

2. The Word Was God.
John 1:1 In the _beginning_ was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

3. Jesus Declared His Self-Existence.
John 8:58 _Jesus_ said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, _before_ Abraham was born, I am."

4. I Am Is the Name of God.
Exodus 3:14 God said to _Moses_, "I AM WHO I AM "; and He said, "Thus you _shall_ say to the sons of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.' "

5. Jesus Forgave Sins.
Luke 5:20-24 Seeing their faith, He said, "Friend, your sins are forgiven you." [21] The _scribes_ and the _Pharisees_ began to reason, saying, "Who is this man who speaks _blasphemies_? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?" [22] But Jesus, aware of their reasonings, _answered_ and said to them, "Why are you reasoning in your hearts? [23] "Which is easier, to say, 'Your sins have been forgiven you,' or to say, 'Get up and walk '? [24] "But, so that you may know that the Son of Man has _authority_ on earth to forgive sins,"-He said to the _paralytic_ -"I say to you, get up, and pick up your _stretcher_ and go home."

6. Thomas Testified That He Was Both Lord and God.
John 20:28 _Thomas_ answered and said to Him, "My _Lord_ and my God!"

7. The Father Addresses the Son of God.
Hebrews 1:5-9 For to which of the angels did He ever say, "YOU ARE MY SON, TODAY I HAVE BEGOTTEN YOU"? And again, "I WILL BE A FATHER TO HIM AND HE SHALL BE A SON TO ME"? [6] And when He again brings the _firstborn_ into the world, He says, "AND LET ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD WORSHIP [7] And of the angels He says, "WHO MAKES HIS ANGELS WINDS, AND HIS _MINISTERS_ A FLAME OF FIRE." [8] But of the Son He says, "YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER, AND THE _RIGHTEOUS_ SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM. [9] "YOU HAVE LOVED _RIGHTEOUS_NESS AND HATED _LAWLESSNESS_; THEREFORE GOD, YOUR GOD, HAS ANOINTED YOU WITH THE OIL OF _GLADNESS_ ABOVE YOUR _COMPANIONS_."

8. Jesus Christ Is Eternal.
Isaiah 9:6 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the _government_ will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful _Counselor_, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Micah 5:2 "But as for you, Bethlehem _Ephrathah_, Too little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, From the days of _eternity_."

1 Timothy 6:15-16 Which He will bring about at the proper time -He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, [16] who alone _possesses_ _immortality_ and dwells in _unapproachable_ light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.

Revelation 1:18 And the living One; and I was dead, and _behold_, I am alive _forevermore_, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.

9. Jesus Voluntary Sacrifice for Us.
Philippians 2:5-12 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, [6] who, _although_ He existed in the form of God, did not regard _equality_ with God a thing to be grasped, [7] but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the _likeness_ of men. [8] Being found in _appearance_ as a man, He humbled Himself by _becoming_ _obedient_ to the point of death, even death on a cross. [9] For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and _bestowed_ on Him the name which is above every name, [10] so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, [11] and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. [12] So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my _presence_ only, but now much more in my absence, work out your _salvation_ with fear and _trembling_;
