God's Advice About MoneyProverbs gives some practical instruction on the use of money. It may be advice we are not too interested in because it shows us that we may need to change our habits. Advance the Cause of Righteousness with Money; Do Not Squander it.Proverbs 10:16 The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.
Be Generous.Proverbs 11:24-25 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. [25] The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.Proverbs 22:9 He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.
Place People's Needs Ahead of Profit.Proverbs 11:26 He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.
Be Cautious of Countersigning for Another Person.Proverbs 17:18 A man void of understanding striketh hands, and becometh surety in the presence of his friend.
Proverbs 22:26-27 Be not thou one of them that strike hands, or of them that are sureties for debts. [27] If thou hast nothing to pay, why should he take away thy bed from under thee?
Striking hands would be like shaking hands on a deal in today's setting.
Proverbs 21:13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.
Proverbs 22:9 He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.
