The Geneology of JesusThe Bible provides two genealogies for Jesus. Matthew shows the Jewish point of view by emphasizing Abraham, the father of the faithful. Luke provides a gentile perspective, going all the way back to Adam. Matthew gives the line through Solomon. Luke shows the line passing through Nathan, another son of David.
