Longevity Of The Patriarchs

The length of life as recorded for each patriarch seems to be divided by the flood of Noah's time. Something changed. For one thing, God said that He would shorten their lives. Genesis 6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. Some people have speculated whether diet was a factor. Perhaps it was. It would seem that the enviroment in general must have played a major part in determining their longetity. Before the flood God had water above the firmament as well as below. Genesis 1:7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament. These waters, in one form or another, must have shielded man from the harmful radiation that now bombards our earth every day.
