Psalms 50:3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Matthew 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
When the Bible speaks of those being left, it does not say they will be left alive on earth.
In Noah's day there were two classes.
One class was left, and the other taken by the flood. In Lot's day
there were two classes. One class escaped and the other was left in the
city and destroyed by fire.
The birds in this text reference are
scavengers that gather to feast on the dead. Each Bible reference to
Jesus coming as a thief is in reference to the unexpected time of His
coming, not the manner. He comes quickly and unexpectedly as a thief. But
He comes in great splendor and triumphant glory, and is seen by everyone
just as lightening is seen across the whole sky.
2 Thessalonians 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
Matthew 24:42-44 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. [43] But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. [44] Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
1 Thessalonians 5:1-5 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. [2] For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. [3] For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. [4] But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. [5] Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Matthew 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
The righteous are saved and the unrighteous are lost. In the parable of the unfaithful servant, there is no second chance.
